Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan said on Friday that China will work with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to implement the important consensus reached by top leaders of the two countries and push for greater development in bilateral ties.
Wang made the remarks at the reception celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK jointly held by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-DPRK Friendship Association.
He congratulated the DPRK on the fruitful achievements it has made over the past 70 years in socialist revolution and construction.
Noting that China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, Wang said Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has held three historic meetings with DPRK’s top leader Kim Jong Un this year, charting the course for future development of bilateral ties.
"No matter how the international and regional situations change, the firm stance of the CPC and the Chinese government on consolidating and developing relations with the DPRK remains unchanged, the Chinese people’s friendship with the DPRK people remains unchanged, and China’s support for the socialist DPRK remains unchanged," Wang said.
Chi Jae Ryong, the DPRK ambassador to China, said DPRK-China friendship is a precious treasure forged by the old-generation leaders of the two countries.
The DPRK stands ready to work with China to further promote the DPRK-China friendship in accordance with the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries, he said.
